Across the congregations of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada, there is a noticeable and growing hunger to engage more deeply with our Anabaptist understanding of peace. Fanosie Legesse, MCEC Intercultural Minister, makes himself available to accompany congregations on this journey.
Two timely questions sit at the heart of this invitation:
- How might Mennonites respond to rising nationalism and increased defense spending?
- What does it mean to pursue Christ's peace faithfully within our local communities today?
Fanosie Legesse's personal story gives weight to his ministry: he grew up in a context of communist-inspired violence and faced the life-altering question of whether he would take up arms.
This MCEC offering is a valuable resource for the RADAR family of churches, who walk under MCEC's transitional support on their path toward Mennonite Church Canada.
